Brand New Secret Project No Longer a Secret

http://rainbowpix.org/pictures/buterfly.jpgI am super excited to share what I’ve been up to! I’ve been unwaveringly dedicated. Laser focused. Thanks to my German heritage, I’ve been able to tap into solid devotion. Every day for hours on end, my butt has been practically glued into my chair. I’ve been diligently pouring my soul into a new project. While my poor body is getting tired from hours of sitting, my spirit is singing.

It’s not that I’ve been keeping things secret from you. It’s just that sometimes projects need to be planted, tended to, and given the opportunity to grow some sturdy roots before being exposed to elements. Well, I’m happy to announce my project has grown from a seed, into a seedling, into a well established plant. Oh, it’s not done yet, there’s still plenty of work ahead. But… Now it’s time to share the good news!

So what is this big mystery? Drum roll please…

I’m excited to declare I’m writing another book! Of course, I’m biased, but this one is amazing. I don’t yet have a permanent title, but so far the lead title is:

Depression Into Awakening Consciousness: New Energy Tools to Survive the Process

Or, it could very well be something along the lines of Trusting Yourself Through Depression.

I’m sure the final title won’t be anything like the one above, but for now it’s enough to give you an idea of the direction I’m heading in. If you have any great ideas of a title, please leave your suggestions in the comments section below this article.

Depression now affects approximately 57.7 million American adults or about 26.2% of the U.S. population age 18 and older in a given year. Everyone will at some time in his or her life be affected by depression – their own or someone else’s according to Australian Government statistics.

This book is born from my heart and soul. I’m proud of this one to be honest. It will place a new humane and loving perspective on the journey and value of spiritual depression. There’s still a long way to go: finish writing, editing, copy editing, cover design, then the search for a publisher. But you won’t have to wait for a hard cover edition. We’re planning to release the book in ebook format and make it available on the Amazon Kindle reading device possibly by May or June of this year.

Please stay tuned! I’ll let provide more specific juicy details as things continue to progress. Can’t wait to tell you more as the story unfolds!

If you’ve had experience with spiritual depression, sometimes called the dark night of the soul, and you want to share the actions that most helped, please share them below in the comments section. Your hope and words will provide light for someone who really needs to hear what you have to share.

Congratulations on your new project and a belated Happy Birthday!

I’ve been thinking about your article ever since I first read it and still can’t get a handle on what “spiritual depression” really is. To me, any form of depression, is what is going on in our minds. Personally, I believe the word “depression” is used too literally. When a person is feeling down or low, does this mean they are depressed?

Life is a journey and we have to accept the bad things as well as the good things that happen to us or others as part of the journey. I find that unhappy people are those who figure they aren’t getting what they want or deserve out of life, so they beat themselves up over this.

As for the “dark night of the soul” phrase, it reminds me of a horror movie. I’m going to do some recearch on this, for sure.

I spent my 60th Birthday yesterday at the Spa and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had a mud bath and a great massage.

Chat more soon, K.

Annette, it is wonderful that you are writing this book. My mom had depression for many years and I too had felt depressed. The difference for me was that I was aware that I was depressed and knew that I could choose something differently if I just allowed myself to. So many individuals experience depression in some form and don’t know that they can move beyond it. Plus even more individuals are experiencing depression symptoms due to the rapid changes in our global consciousness. More people are waking up to discover that they don’t really like their lives or themselves and desire change. I don’t know the direction you’re taking with your book but I think it would be great if the title alluded to the idea that depression isn’t necessarily bad or that they are not bad for experiencing depression. Perhaps: Loving Yourself through Depression :-)

Dear Kathleen and Nat,

Thank you both for your wonderful comments. Over the next few weeks, I’ll begin posting more information about the direction of my depression book, and describe more fully what spiritual depresssion, sometimes known as the dark night of the soul, really is. Until then, thanks for the feedback and the title suggestions!

Dear Annete ,
Great you put so much soul and energy in helping us depressed !)! Also that you do this without putting money as 99 % of the others on the first place makes youd deserve a huge beuatyfull Statue somewhere ! I will call you “Princess of Light”. I do not understand the word spiritual , except for that religions plus the current freedom automatically ends up in things like spirituality. But ok if people love it it can be our new leadership people are longing for.
Some possible titles could be :

- small little beuatylight shining in the whole tunnel
- depressed ones lets join per passion and forget competition and swim in stimulation care !!))!!
- depression builts talent , see her pls as a friend ))
- depressed lets join Abraham Lincoln , Billy Joel , Goethe , Richard Branson , Bill Clinton , and F Hug the normals that are 100 times more stupid then us !!))!!
- depressed are leaders f Hug ked by cold killing capitalism , so lets take the 13 catalysators out if “das BIG kapitaal” and safe the planet !@!
- how 2 love yourself again and slowly forget your depresions
- how to make Annete allways be surounded by 68,6 playfull butterflykisses that swimfly around her , lift her mood and allways protect her from evil )*)*)

how far is your new book Annete ?

Dear Andreiko,
Thank you for your awesome words of encouragement! I am committed to ongoing personal growth and believe firmly in the power of the individual to overcome adversity and transform one’s life.

The word “spirituality” is a misnomer, as I believe what we are actually seeking is a deeper connection with our own true spirit. It’s not something we obtain outside of us, but that we drop down into. Sometimes we have to drop down into the darkness of our beliefs to make new decisions about life, self-worth, joy, and abundance. And sometimes those beleifs that we hold inside are so frightening, we can easily get frozen within depression.

I appreciate the creative energy you placed into suggesting new titles. You have quite a range!

The depression book is just about to enter the hands of the graphic design artist and may be in print as early as late January 2010! The final title is…..

Depression Freedom: Ending the Reign of Darkness

Wishing you a heart-filled journey,
Annette
