Living Your Highest Potential

Choosing a New Path to Your Highest PotentialNo one can change the past; no one can undo past actions. What is done is done. At some point, if feeling better and greater fulfillment are desired outcomes, we finally say, “Okay. I can rant, rave, and feel sorry for myself all I want. I can blame others or myself for this life I’m living. Or, I can choose to be done now and begin again. I can accept that this is my current reality and my starting point. Now, what is the quickest action I can take to allow myself to feel better right now? Where do I want to go from here?” Deciding to reach the end of misery, sadness, blame, or regret, we must first give ourselves permission to step off the well-trodden path. A new journey waits.

Thanks for you comment Aaron! Last night I watched the movie Benjamin Button and found it held a similar message. Benjamin knew he could be angry with his father for what he had done, or he could move forward and make the best of the situation. Whenever we are ready, we can ask ourselves, “Where do I want to go from here?”

Thank you for inviting me to share the wisdom of centenarians – those 100 years and older.

Active centenarains do not live in the past; their collective advice is to encapsulate the good memories and let the others go. They enjoy each day, and do look forward — to wherever their journey takes them, without fear.
