Hi Jim,
Thanks for your comments and your inspiration. This journey of awakening higher consciousness is quite a journey isn't it?! This journey often leads us through low self-esteem, depression, and food addictions as we bring ourselves back into wholeness.

As you have successfully released suffering and drama, you have discovered your ability to make conscious choices, to breathe through difficult emotions as they heal, and to trust your intuition implicitly.

Intuition, or listening to your heart, is difficult to describe because intuition is you. It's not like someone outside of you who talking to you in a voice. And it's not your disconnected spirit voice talking at you either. Intuition is YOU. It is what you feel, what you know, and what you understand.

In my newly released my book Depression Freedom, I devoted an entire chapter to the necessity of listening to our intution to get through this journey of awakening consciousness. I talk about what intuition "sounds" like, why we don't trust it, and why listening to our intuition is absolutely important to living a life of freedom of joy. As Joni James, author of Doorways to Freedom writes, "This book (Depression Freedom) is a must not only for those who are suffering from depression, but for anyone who is on a path of growth and enlightenment.

I offer my deepest gratitude as you continue to share the ups and downs of your beautiful journey with us here at Divine Self! Wishing you infinitely expanding peace and love.

Hi Annette,

It never fails that I find nuggets of wisdom and truth when I come to your web site looking for some insight into feelings I have been having! Your posts about awakening higher consciousness are great food for thought.

For the past couple of years now I have been on a journey away from low self-esteem, depression and food addictions to reach a point where I love living life in ways I never knew possible. One thing I find myself asking myself "what's next?" on this journey. It's been amazing, but through all the work I have completed, I am not the same person spiritual as I was most of my life. I seek to make my life one of giving of myself, to be a positive influence on the world around me, to contribute to the world rather than just take from it. I hear this "calling" me in my heart, but it is a whisper, a hint, that I have been trying to define, to listen more closely to. I always felt it would be some sort of flashing neon sign, but it isn't! Any additional thoughts on how to "listen" to your heart are welcome ... frankly, this is very new territory for me, having lived my life being reactive to my environment rather than proactive. What a beautiful journey lies ahead of all of us! Thanks Annette for everything you do! - Jim

The road to higher conscious awareness is often bumpy and painful. Having allowed myself to heal many old wounds and fears has shown me that the pain felt in the moment is tiny when compared to the peace that moves with me from that moment on. It can be hard not to get lost in the emotions but I remind myself to breath and know that no emotion lasts forever and I will get through this. As always, your words are inspiring.
