What are the basic principles that rule happiness? Looking back on my life, I’m sharing what has—and continues to make—the most impact on the amount of happiness I feel every day. Below is Happiness Principle #2.
Happiness Principle #2:
Personal Priorities
Taking action on our personal priorities goes hand-in-hand with listening to our intuition. Every day we wake up and have a new day before us. Within this day we can create new experiences and take action on the desires and dreams most important to us.
However so often, life gets busy, we tend to the needs of everyone around us, and our personal priorities get pushed to the bottom of the daily to-do list. Until one day we wake up and realize that we’ve completely lost sight of who we are and why we are alive. We place meaning in our children, spouse, friends, and career, and those decisions feel good and right. Yet deep inside we wonder why our life doesn’t feel complete or happy.
What’s often missing is providing ourselves opportunity to take some time out, explore deep inside, and sort through the ideas and values that are most important to us as individuals. It’s never too late to take a few slow deep breaths and move your personal priorities to the top of your to-do page.
Today make some time to recognize what is most important. This might include:
- What you want out of life
- What addiction or habit you are ready to let go of
- What books you would like to read
- What type of creative avenues you would wish to explore
- What business you wish to begin
- What types of classes you want to explore
- Where you want to live
There’s no better time than today to get excited about your life and dreams. Get started by letting us know below… what is important to you as an authentic, unique individual? What are your long term hopes and dreams? What have you always wanted to do but never made time for? Let your intuition guide you and then begin taking action today by recognizing what is most important to you, sharing your ideas, and finding one doable action that will make today a rich and satisfying experience.
